The Story Behind Weekly Healthy Meals
Hello, my name is Debbie, however, most of my friends call me DJ.
Like many modern women, I fill many roles throughout the day. I am a working mother to two children, an advocate of health, supporter and friend. My husband works long hours, and my kids are active in programs after school and on the weekend.
I once fell into the trap of believing that our hectic lives were an excuse to eat whatever junk food was convenient. Dinner was a stressful part of our day. I wanted to provide healthy meals for my family, but felt overwhelmed.
I would spend hours on the internet searching for a meal my entire family would enjoy. Once I found a recipe, I would then make a grocery list for all of the ingredients, which was time consuming, and added more stress to my life. I hated eating out all the time, and often by Wednesday I had no idea what the heck to cook for dinner.
I felt sluggish, with low energy. Then I had a wake up call. The bottom line is, I didn’t want my kids growing up eating crappy food. I HAD to make a change for the sake of my family. I studied nutrition, and became a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I am passionate about whole foods, because I believe that eating the right foods can completely transform your life!
Our children are highly influenced by the food that is available to them. I wanted to educate my kids on what healthy food was because, let’s face it, our kids are constantly being bombarded with junk food marketing, while child obesity rates are skyrocketing.
I am on a mission to encourage busy individuals like yourself to make cooking a priority, and to empower you to get into the kitchen and cook real food without experiencing the stress & hassle of having to plan.
I feel so passionate about this because we need to teach our kids about healthy food so they can then flourish into knowledgeable adults. Teaching our children how to make healthy food choices can impact their health for a lifetime! I firmly believe that a positive relationship with food is one of the most valuable gifts we can give our children.
Why Weekly Healthy Meals was Created.
Obesity is at an all-time high, and its side effects are diminishing the quality of life for far too many people. It is time to stop eating processed, sugary foods, and depending on takeout, and frozen dinners to nourish our bodies. Eating a whole foods diet can transform lives, which is why I encourage busy parents to make home-cooking a priority.

Weekly Healthy Meals is a flexible meal planning program created for busy families and individuals who are looking to cook and eat nutritious meals, while saving time and energy. We offer a choice between vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers meal plans. Each plan includes recipes for 3 breakfasts, and 3 dinners, as well as a printable recipes and shopping list for the ingredients. In addition, the plans will provide tips and tricks to make cooking easier and less stressful. You will get tips on each recipe (if applicable) on what can be made ahead of time, which helps you get dinner on the table faster on busy weeknights.
